Who's Behind the Leash


Hi, I'm Nick - founder of Winnie Dog Co.

My love for dogs has always been the one constant in my life, but in 2022 I finally listened to it. After twelve years in a cubicle, feeling disconnected from everything that made me feel alive, the pandemic pushed me to rethink what actually mattered. When a friend asked if I could help with some dog walks, it changed everything. Those first weeks outside with dogs felt like someone cracked open a window—I could breathe again. I realized this is where I belonged.

I started Winnie Dog Co. in honor of my blue nose pitbull, Winnie, who has been with me for nine years. She’s been by my side through some of the most defining seasons of my adult life—including a cancer scare and a traumatic attack that she bravely recovered from. The strength and softness she’s shown through those moments taught me more about resilience, presence, and unconditional love than anything else. She’s the heart of this company, and the reason I care so deeply about creating a safe, steady, and loving experience for every dog I work with.

That’s the foundation of how we approach dog care: every dog has a story, and every dog deserves to feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. At Winnie Dog Co., we’re guided by a relationship-based approach rooted in consistency, familiarity, and trust.
